Open a PalmPay account

Register with PalmPay and finish their onboarding. Funds settle from PalmPay to your own bank account.

Add it in PaymentHood

Paste your PalmPay credentials into the PaymentHood dashboard. They stay server-side and never reach your storefront.

Install the plugin

Download the J2Commerce plugin and install it from Extensions → Manage → Install in your Joomla admin.

They are direct competitors with overlapping but not identical user bases, and neither reaches everyone. Merchants selling to Nigerian consumers at scale typically offer both, which behind PaymentHood costs nothing extra — it is a dashboard toggle against the same integration.

Less so. Its strength is consumer wallets and agent distribution. For business customers, bank transfer and card remain the expected methods.

Card penetration is lower than transfer usage, and card declines are common. A checkout offering a one-time virtual account number — the customer transfers from any bank app and the payment confirms in seconds — will convert materially better than one offering cards alone. It is the single most important local method to enable.
