Register with Ozow and finish their onboarding. Funds settle from Ozow to your own bank account.

Download the Phoca Cart plugin and install it from Extensions → Manage → Install in your Joomla admin.

With pay-by-bank the customer authorises a transfer straight from their bank account inside their own banking session — no card number is entered anywhere. For the merchant that means no card data to protect and no card chargeback route. The trade-off is that refunds are handled as outbound transfers rather than card reversals.

Ozow covers the major South African retail banks, including FNB, Absa, Standard Bank, Nedbank, RMB, Capitec, TymeBank, Investec, Discovery Bank and African Bank. Check ozow.com for the current list before you rely on a specific bank.

As well. Pay-by-bank and cards suit different customers, and offering both measurably reduces abandoned checkouts. Running both behind PaymentHood means one integration rather than two, and you can add or remove either without a code change.

PaymentHood's routing can fail a transaction over to another configured South African provider instead of showing the customer an error. That failover is configured in the dashboard — your storefront code is unchanged.
